Arthur M. Blank School
The Blank School engages Babson community members and leads research to create entrepreneurial leaders.
Experiential learning through consulting projects has been an integral part of the Babson experience for more than four decades and is built upon deep relationships with leading companies and organizations in the Boston region and around the world. By participating in one of these four consulting programs, managed by the Office of Experiential Learning, you will gain practical, hands-on experience to build and test your leadership, teamwork, and client project management skills in a real world environment.
Under the direction of a Babson faculty advisor, teams of three to seven students use Entrepreneurial Thought & Action®, critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork skills to tackle an organization’s challenges in real time while creating innovative solutions.
A signature learning experience for all MBA formats, the Babson Consulting Experience (BCE) gives students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of conceptual and developmental tools learned in the classroom through hands-on applications in real-world contexts. BCE brings together and underscores Babson’s unique approach to Entrepreneurial Thought & Action.®

The Management Consulting Field Experience (MCFE) is an elective course open to students in the MBA program. The structure of the course allows students to work in a team outside of the classroom on real-world challenges. Partner organizations submit an organizational challenge, and are selected by students based on their matching interests.

Babson graduate students have made substantial contributions to partner company growth and innovation. Here’s a sample of recent work.
In the wake of the pandemic, a five-person MBA team worked with the C-suite at Shipt, a Target-owned delivery service, to help advance its focus on long-term strategy while day-to-day efforts took overwhelming priority for the company.
Learn moreNonprofit and for-profit companies also are clamoring to work with MCFE students, proposing way more projects than the College can possibly accommodate. Recent companies involved with MCFE include Dunkin’ Brands, Puma, NESN, and the Boston Red Sox.
Learn moreOne of the most valuable parts was the time (our client) gave us, to pinpoint ideas and work through them together. They were just as engaged and open to sharing insights into their corporate strategy, which helped us structure the project.
