Community Service at Babson
The Office of Faith and Service coordinates volunteer and community-service activities with various local and national community-service agencies.
We strive to graduate socially responsible and civically engaged individuals who recognize that they play a role in giving back to the community and can solve global social-justice issues in an innovative way.
The Office of Faith and Service offers one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities for Babson students, staff, and alumni. Please visit the volunteer calendar to learn more about these opportunities.
Community Action Program
The Community Action Program (CAP) is a student employment opportunity for students eligible for federal work-study programs to perform, and be paid for, community service throughout the academic year. These students gain experience at an agency while obtaining a greater sense of societal issues and what can be done to help.
First-Year Service in Action Program
The First Year Service in Action Program engages first-year students in multiple service projects during their first semester at Babson College. Last year's projects included a visit to Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore, Cradles to Crayons, and Community Servings.
Annual Community Engagement Events
The following events take place at Babson College and allow opportunities for Babson students, staff, and alumni to give back and support various social justice causes and organizations.
- September: National Day of Service and Remembrance
- October: Cruickshank 5K Race for Shelter
- November: Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week; Town of Wellesley Cradles to Crayons Sort
- March: Habitat for Humanity Spaghetti Luncheon
- All year long: Cradles to Crayons donation drive
