Undergraduate Orientation
The Orientation program helps you adjust to the Babson lifestyle and eases the transition into college by providing information and answers to any academic, personal, and social questions.
Orientation is the first experience you will have with your new classmates. Our staff, faculty, and current students will be available throughout the program to help guide and advise. We hope that through the Orientation experience you’ll begin to form a sense of belonging to our community!
The Orientation program is designed with three objectives:

EXPLORE
Our goal is for you to explore your new community, meet new people, and see what options there are for you to create your own Babson journey.
ENGAGE
As part of our community we want you to engage with others, learn from people who come from different places and have different traditions.

Undergraduate Orientation
Babson College's Undergraduate Orientation program consists of two parts, (1) online courses students must complete prior to the start of classes, and (2) in-person programming experiences over the course of move-in weekend.
All Orientation content, both virtual and in-person, is required for all students to participate in and complete. Exact details of the virtual orientation program and move-in weekend schedules will be shared in the months leading up to the start of the semester. Part 1: Virtual Orientation
In the weeks leading up to the start of classes, new students will be introduced to the resources, expectations, and traditions of Babson College through a virtual Orientation course, and other topic-specific courses. The full virtual orientation experience consists of these four programs:
- Student Life at Babson (Canvas Course): an introduction to the various resources and opportunties available to students across campus, including academic advising, community standards and policy, health and wellness, public safety, multicultural and identity programs, and welcome messages from campus administrators.
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Learning Platform (Everfi Platform): a deeper look into key concepts within diversity, including power, privilege, identities, communication, and inclusion.
- Gender Based Misconduct (Canvas Course): a program addressing Babson policy and process regarding sexual and relationship violence under the Gender-Based Misconduct Policy and the Title IX Policy.
- Watch Your BAC Part 1 (Canvas Course): a program addressing culture and policy around alcohol and other drugs at Babson.
Part 2: In-Person Orientation
Once on campus, the fun begins when new students meet their Peer Mentor, an upperclassman student leader, and the rest of their Orientation group. Orientation weekend will provide new students with the opportunity to engage and socialize with each other while further engaging with campus staff, faculty, and resources.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Orientation content will be delivered both virtually and in-person. In the virtual format launched in the weeks leading up to move-in, all of the content will be asynchronous and designed for you to watch and participate in on your own time and at your own pace. After moving to campus, students will take part in a required in-person Orientation program throughout the weekend. Both virtual and in-person orientation content are required for all students to participate in and complete.
In addition to the required virtual orientation content, the Orientation staff, Campus Activities Board (CAB), and other community members will also offer social and educational live events for students to get to know each other. Details about these events will be communicated through the weekly #BabsonBound Bulletin delivered to your Babson email address in the months leading up to the start of classes.
All orientation sessions and group meetings are a required part of your transition to Babson. The content within these sessions is designed to set you up for success right from the start of your Babson career, and you will be held accountable for knowing and understanding the material covered throughout Orientation. Your attendance and participation will be tracked, and you may receive reminders or notifications if you haven't completed the requirements.
